Can you use outdoor tanning lotion indoors?

There is a big difference between a tanning product made for outside use and a tanning product made for inside use. Many people believe they can use either one indoors or outdoors. This is simply not true. Both products are specifically formulated for use in the proper environment.

For example, outside tanning products are only to be used when tanning outside. This is because the ingredients in the product are only effective when exposed to the natural rays of the sun. Indoor tanning products that are used with tanning beds and tanning booths can only be used when tanning indoors. The ingredients in the products are only activated when exposed to the rays of a tanning bed or tanning booth.

Never attempt to use an indoor tanning product outside or vice versa. To do so would put your skin at risk of getting the harmful UV rays of the sun or the harmful rays of tanning equipment.

To ensure you choose the product that best suits your needs you should do as much research as possible. Google indoor tanning products for listing on information of various products made for indoor tanning. You will also want to read up on the risks and side effects of indoor tanning as well. Many tanning salons will advise you what strength indoor tanning product to choose. If you frequent indoor tanning salons, your skin is condition to the rays so you may be able to choose a product with less protection. If you are new to the indoor tanning scene, you will need to choose a product that has maximum protection until your skin because adjusted to the rays. Salons have regulations and you must be at least 18 years of age to use tanning booths or tanning beds. Children under the age of 18 should not use tanning equipment since their skin is still very tender. It is also advised that senior citizens limit their exposure to tanning equipment since their skin is thin and frail.

If you prefer to get your tan outside again be sure to read up on it as much as possible. Be sure to read about the side effects of overexposure to the sun. Read about the SPF factor and the various levels to be sure you pick the one that best suits your needs. If you are outside a lot, you may want to choose an outdoor tanning product with a lower SPF level. This is because your skin is more conditioned to being out in the sun. If you are only out in the sun occasionally you may want to choose and outdoor tanning product with a higher SPF level. This is because your skin is not conditioned to being exposed to the sun. Children should also have tanning products that have a higher SPF level.

If you prefer to get your tan anyway you can either indoors or outdoors you will need to buy two different tanning products.

When shopping be sure you are buying the product that is for your needs and that has the right level of protection for your skin.
