Bronzer lotions or bronzers are temporary tanning lotions that bronze the skin. Bronzers are available in several different forms such as lotions, powders, gels, moisturizers, and sprays. Bronzers create a tan like effect, which can be washed off. Bronzers are also considered make up and stay on as long as you want them to.

Bronzers are very safe to use and are approved by the FDA. Most bronzers will limit the amount of sweat you product and are very light and water resistant there are many different formulas which crate a bright skin tone.

One thing to watch out for is that bronzers can rub off onto your clothes so you may want to apply your bronzer before getting dressed. If my also help to wear darker clothes in the event the bronzer rubs off it’s less noticeable.

Bronzers can also be used as tanning lotions when using a tanning bed or tanning booth. Bronzers protect the skin by giving it moisture and prevents premature again of the skin.

There are many different types of bronzers available making it difficult to understand which one is the best one to use. Bronzers is one of three in the tanning lotion category the other two being accelerators, and tingles, however, the most common are bronzers. Bronzers give instant color without the need for a tanning bed or the sun. Bronzers contain ingredients also found in sunless tanning lotions and spray tan lotions. There is one big difference is that bronzers also have especially formulated ingredients especially for indoor tanning. Most natural tans take around a day to develop. However, bronzers give you the tan before your natural tan can be seen.

The main active ingredient in bronzers that causes your skin to turn a bronze color is called DHA or dihydroxyacetone. This chemical is non-toxic and was discovered many years ago in Germany. DHA cause a reaction when applied to the skin turning it a brown bronze color. However, if you use too much bronzer the DHA will turn your skin orange! This mostly occurred with bronzers in the early years and there are less chances of this occurring with today’s bronzers except for the very cheap discount bronzers.

There’s a wide price range for bronzers ranging anywhere from $40 to over $150. So when shopping around make sure you get what you pay for. Bronzers can be found in retail stores, discount retails stores, boutiques, tanning salons and most major discount pharmacies. If you are confused and ask a clerk about which bronzer is best you may not get the information you need. Most stores are not properly informed to be able to give you the information you need about the bronzer you choose so your best bet is to read about them online. Just search for “bronzers” to get all the information you need about how to use them to get maximum effect. You may also want to check out a few product reviews to ensure you choose the right bronzer that will best suit your needs.
